Æbleskiver or ebleskiver (literally "apple slices") are traditional Danish cakes, somewhat similar in texture to American pancakes. Æbleskiver are cooked in a special æbleskive pan, a cast-iron pan with several hemispherical indentations in the bottom of the pan.
